OM by Simone Holler Rickauer, Switzerland
In the past summer, there were two very nice guests from India with us for two weeks in the Semjase-Silver-Star-Center. The two friends were very interested, very active and helped wherever there was something to do. Likewise, they stayed in the center on the weekends and took part in our various meditations.
Here, the talk is about various meditations since we carry out, on the one hand, our Peace Meditation on every first weekend of any month, and on the other hand, also the OM-Meditation.
Hence, the two guests also took part in the OM-Meditation.
After the end of the OM-Meditation, the question was raised by the guests as to why we did not all say the meditation word OM at the same time.
I found this question fascinating and at the same time it awakened the wish in me, to furthermore learn and to write about the mantra OM (the word ‘mantra’ is composed of the two syllables man and tra, which are derived from ‘manas’ and ‘trajate’ and means as much as ‘consciousness’ and ‘liberating’), which has already existed since time immemorial.
It was also already written about in various writings and books of the Aquarian-AgePublishing, and the various explanations and statements are also to be found there.
First and foremost regarding the individual OM-recitation during a meditation: Every human being should freely recite the mantra, the meditation-word ‘OM’, in their own breathing rhythm and their own speed.
Since the word ‘OM’ is repeated by the meditators in the group uninterruptedly, a permanent tapestry of sound arises which spreads itself out in the room and is continually repeated.
An important aspect is, however, also the right pronunciation of this mighty and powerful mantra. With the correct pronunciation, the O is not vocalised in a prolonged manner, but rather the main-elongation lies upon the ‘imaginary’ U, and transitions into a less long, soft fading M.
If the meditation-word OM is correctly pronounced, then one can imagine it as OUUUMM, because only so, pronounced correctly in this wise, does it correspond to the positive harmony-value of the sound.
In no case must the OM-mantra or the meditation-word OM be vocalised for so long until one is out of air, rather, it stretches a few seconds, which self-evidently varies a little and can be individually different.
In the river of the life, it is of enormous help to recite the mantra OM as often as one would like, also in silence, in order to come back to oneself again and again and in order to not completely lose oneself in the external.
The OM-recitation is therefore also very well suited as a personal going-into-oneself [introspection]; wherever one is and however one feels, it harmonises and neutralises.
When we connect ourselves with the sound-swinging-wave of the OM, we connect ourselves with the swinging-wave-frequency of the life.
During my writing and deliberation, the thought then came to me, respectively, the wish in the sense how it would be if … How would it be, if all human beings, as often as possible, would allow an OM spoken in thought to sound within themselves?
Regardless of whether it is during shopping, showering, eating or while observing a cloud or a star. I think, the world would be a little more conscious, more harmonious and more peaceful …
Since I encounter the OM-mantra always again and again, also in connection with the yoga-way, I was very curious what the various groups and human beings think about the valueful meditation-word OM or mantra OM.
The sound of the OM describes the ur-sound of the universe and brings forth a harmonic swinging-wave, which perceptibly permeates the body from the belly up to the vertex [upper surface of the head].
In almost all yoga-styles, the OM is recited at the beginning and the end of the yoga-exercises, in order to center oneself and to establish inner repose and harmony. OM is both a symbol of the form and of the sound and designates the presence of the Absolute. OM is the cosmic YES. OM is the ur-sound, the sound of the sounds – the universal energy. OM is the plainness and the clearness of the inner peace, which tunes in when one again and again repeats this mantra and makes it into their constant companion. OM is neutral-positive power. OM is one of the simplest, clearest and yet most powerful mantra which exists. OM is the breath of the cosmos, the breath of the life.
On the swinging-waves of the OM, you will always be carried. It was very nice to establish that all these various statements concords with the explanations of the ‘Teaching of the Truth, Teaching of the Spirit, Teaching of the Life’ in the broadest sense.
OM is simply OM.
When I spoke with Billy about this, he was kind enough to also write down his thoughts about the meaningful meditation-word OM, which I very gladly convey here: ”Harmony is a state of being, in which soundswinging-waves – just as through OM – are used to harmonise all experiences and all living-experiences.
While the human being connects with the soundswinging-waves of the OM in a consciousnessbased-mental manner, he or she can harmonise all aspects of his or her inner nature, so for example, his or her thoughts and feelings, as well as his or her experiences and their living-experiences, his or her awareness, his or her love and perceptions, etc.
Through the use and utterance of the OM, the sound-swinging-wave proceeding from it can therefore be experienced and lived, just as he or she can also work in harmony together with the nature and the creational-natural laws and recommendations and also transform his or her own consciousness and, at the same time, dissolve the disharmony within him or herself and thereby also placate and transform his or her environment.
So the human being can under circumstances, change the world or parts of him or her, guided by his or her own harmony and the strong energy and power which proceeds from him or her when he or she commemorates the OM in themselves in a meditative manner, which also can be done again and again at every conceivable possibility during the day.
And this can be done without needing an actual deep state of meditation for it, but rather only an OM spoken and repeated in thought, as for example, when observing a flower, the clouds, a flowing or still water, an insect, animal, bird or anything else.
The uttering or thinking of the OM releases consciousness-based-mental-harmonious energysound-swinging-waves which are in conformity with the harmonious sound-swinging-wave of the Earth, which manifests itself in the alpha-wavesrealm and creates a relaxed mental-state in the human being.
In this wise, the human being attunes him or herself, in a consciousness-based-mental manner and with every cell of his or her body, to the creational-natural laws and recommendations and in this state is one with the harmonious and positive sound-swinging-wave of the Earth and its entire nature which lies in the frequency-realm of 8 hertz, however, just as also with the powerful harmonious-positive ur-sound-swinging-wave of the universe, through which the entire universe and everything existing in it of every kind and form as well as every aggregate state is streamed-through enlivened with the neutral-positive life-energy.” OM, Salome und Namaste OM, Salome and Namaste.
