Ronaldo reportedly paid $375000 to silence the rape accuser
In a shocking disclosure, the Portuguese Super Star footballer Christiano Ronaldo has finally admitted that he paid $375,000 to silence the rape accuser. The 34-year-old footballer just publicly acknowledged paying Kathryn Mayorga, a former model and US citizen, who claimed that Ronaldo had raped her in 2009.
Kathryn Mayorga and Christiano Ronaldo
Kathryn Mayorga claims that she met Ronaldo in the Rains Nightclub at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. And using that friendship, Ronaldo raped her.
Kathryn Mayorga also claimed that she took money from the Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo in 2010. Mayorga said that she took money from Ronaldo as part of a private settlement. She previously said that she signed a non-disclosure agreement about this incident.
In 2018, Kathryn Mayorga identified Ronaldo as the man who had allegedly raped her. After this, the police started their investigation. Police did not charge Ronaldo due to lack of compelling evidence. After this, Kathryn Mayorga filed a civil lawsuit. New court documents explicitly reveal the amount of money paid by Cristiano Ronaldo to Mayorga.
“MR. RONALDO PAID PLAINTIFF THE SUM OF $375,000 AND BOTH PARTIES AGREED TO BE BOUND BY EXPLICIT CONFIDENTIALITY AND NON-DISPARAGEMENT OBLIGATIONS,” THE COURT DOCUMENTS STATED.
It is still unclear whether the Civil Lawsuit will continue or not due to this private settlement. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo has repeatedly denied the allegations.
Cristiano Ronaldo wants to be taken out this case from the public eye. The soccer superstar wants to move this case from federal court to a private court. Overall, it clearly shows how the ‘people with money and muscle’ power will suppress the truth and get away from punishments.
