While the PM Narendra Modi-led team is working tirelessly to control the menacing COVID-19, a research team from the India's premier technology Institute IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Roorkee unveiled its innovative, less expensive and portal Ventilator which is aptly titled 'Prana Vayu' (Sankrit name for Oxygen).
It has been developed in collaboration with AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Rishikesh. The closed-loop ventilator doesn't require compressed air and is useful when hospital wards and open areas are converted into ICUs (Intensive Care Unit).
It can deliver the required amount of air to the patient with an automated process, controlling pressure and flow rates. Sensing it's potential, nearly 400+ companies have expressed interest to commercialize this need-of-the-hour product. The commercial product will be approximately 1.5 ft by 1.5ft and it will be cost around US dollar 400.
