CMON announced the release of God of War: The Card Game. The game is based on the very successful reboot of the God of War franchise from Sony Santa Monica in 2018. Players will try on the roles of Kratos, Freya, and other heroes and join their forces in an attempt to stop Ragnarok. God of War: The Card Game is a cooperative game, so the players should work together to defeat enemies.
The game has a new interesting mechanics, that allows creating the "What if ...?" scenarios. Each successfully played game brings players closer to the goal and makes it possible to postpone Ragnarok. If the players lose the game, then the Norn will have to try again, since only death and destruction lie on this particular path.
Each game in God of War: The Card Game has a grid of cards where players can meet monsters and locations from a popular video game. The grid of each game is unique, and all the cards are two-sided. Their discovery directly depends on the actions of the players in previous quests.
As the game progresses, more and more side quests are revealed. To play them or not is up to the players only. The execution of one quest can give an advantage in a final battle, and the execution of another can inflict irreparable damage on players. All of these quests and the choice of different strategies make the game very replayable.
The game is scheduled for release at the end of 2019.
