Arrival of Eknath Shinde and the End of Dynastic Politics in India
The split of Shiv Sena and the emergence of Eknath Shinde as a new Shiv Sena leader could be a watershed moment in the Indian political scene, where the good part of the nation still under the clutches of corrupt and inept dynasties like Gandhi Family, Karunanidhi Family, Mulayam Singh Yadav Family – to name a few. The silent coup of BJP inevitably created a shiver on the spines for the guilty parties across India. The audacious Eknath Shinde without succumbing to direct threat and emotional blackmailing, emerged as a true peoples’ leader. Immediately he got the endorsement of several elected members of his own party. On the other hand, the Uddhav Camp tried and miserably failed in their attempt of defaming the rebel leader. The last two weeks happening in Maharashtra, clearly showed Uddhav Thackeray lost the credibility as a leader. Moreover, his ‘partners’ – Congress and NCP watched the whole event as a mute spectator. The happening in the Maharashtra also created a panic in the far away Tamil Nadu, where the opposition required the support of only 45 legislators. The people in politics should understand the drawbacks of ‘family politics.’ What happened in Sri Lanka is a cautionary tale to the power-hungry dynastic politicians. Possibly, the arrival of Eknath Shinde could be the beginning of the end of dynastic politics in India.
