We staff our own 'spaces' with things that over time become irrelevant, while we continue "staffing" the space with more and more... Some of us clean, trash, give out from time to time, however it does not stop us from finding new things that we believe belong to our spaces. Italians have a tradition to through 'old' furniture and other appliances on to the street at the year end, freeing the space for more to come. Other nations also have similar traditions.
A spacial place for staffing in our homes and apartments are the wаrdrobes, dressing rooms, closets, where some of us have cloths that can dress a village or a small city, most of which we never touched after hanging them, yet we continue adding more...
What about some who have multiple cars, when some are used only on special occasions, or not used at all?
The list can go on and on...
Imagine a society, where no-one owns the premise where they live (many having many), a car they drive, a bike they ride, and so on, rather they have to rent all! Would this help reduce our overall consumption and dependence on 'things', free us to live a more 'lean' life, help reduce the waste, garbage, help clean the planet?
Perhaps the future P2P society may bring new culture of consumption and ownership, a change in our understanding of our place on this earth...
