While watching this documentary on Apple TV, I thought if I was to share anything with you, this is one of the stories that would be on top of my list. I invite us all to both watch it and also share with others. Much what I learned is what we all need as human beings, parents, husbands, siblings, members of communities and society as a whole, living beings populating this planet and looking to find happiness.
I made few notes while watching the movie: sharing them as is, accepting that I can't do any better then what this MAN with big capital letters says. His message is so clean and sincere that it just speaks to ones heart directly. I think this is all about spirituality, love, empathy, care, a great story of a teacher with example, selfless dedication to his family, humanity and the planet. I would suggest that he be praised but then think he perhaps does not need it, as he lives with his own words and action: not leaving a bit to others to do what he considers his life, his believes and his love. Please meet Anders Solvarm and his wonderful family and HOME.
Below I share the notes I have been taking while watching, so all coming directly from Anders:
- enhances interaction between the plants and people; a place that can feed you, both with food and energy;
- would never thought that the home can heal you!
- I made it by hands, myself and my father, no nails used, all natural, a true family project
- one thing you have here is longer summers;
- we built a vegetable garden where we use the water from our waste water system.
The family used the waste water filtered through own system to water the plants and the garden. It was the best nutrition they could provide to the ecosystem they have built inside the green house.
- fireplaces are always working, so there is no need for the electricity to warm the house.
- you start realizing that by doing what you are doing you also start taking better care of the planet.
Having created a self sustaining home, with own waste water, heating and other life systems, the family was confronted with the local municipality, not ready to adopt and change to new realities brought by Anders's vision.
"- you are not allowed to be different... they want you to pay", no matter if all the expert would attest that his systems were at the standard if not much better then the municipal ones.
"-They are not ready to see you not as a problem but as a resource".
Anders sued municipality to defend his right to be different.
- If you are not finding the system good enough, you have to take the risk to achieve something better...
He has then started a "Nature-House" movement that is now changing the country.
Those, who want, will listen...
