ZOMBIELAND:DOUBLE TAP (2019) Movie Review
Duration: 1 hour 39 minutes (99 minutes), Genre: Action, Comedy, Horror
Rated: R (for bloody violence, language throughout, some drug and sexual content)
A sequel to Zombieland (2009), this horror comedy begins a decade later following the events of the 1st film.
Basically, this is a comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first film, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family!
In this sequel, we find the core four — Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock — they’ve settled into their little family and new life together at The White House.
But, as is the case with all families, they’ve begun to have a few issues. That’s how you know it’s a real family, right? Columbus and Wichita have coupled up in the Lincoln bedroom, and while Columbus is ready to take the next step in commitment, Wichita is at heart a loner and is uneasy about their domesticity. Tallahassee, meanwhile, has also reluctantly become a willing family member and father figure to Little Rock, who has grown into a young woman. Teen angst on full throttle, Little Rock itches to meet people her own age & get out of the stuffy White House.
Besides Zombie violence, the film also showcases irreverent humor laced with creative entertainment!
Chung Hoon Chung has served as the cinematographer & his work is worthy of mention. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin reprise their roles from the 1st film while the new cast include Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch & Luke Wilson.
It is a Sony Pictures’ presentation.
